Then those few miles at the end which is super boring. After lunch, I head for the opposite side of the port and walk up the roadway, to reach a long patch of open green space. I can see the entrance to Richborough Port, where an estuary joins the bay and through which an occasional motorboat passes. I felt a little bit like I was at the end of no where. Meanwhile, the further route from Ramsgate to Whitstable has been finalised and should be open sometime this year, once the necessary signage is in place and a new path is created through the golf course at Kingsgate.
